Pumpkin Face Mask: Organic Face Mask

Do you love pumpkin? I do! Its my favorite and its really great for my skin so i decided to give it a try as a DIY home organic recipe. Pumpkin seeds contain many beauty boosting properties. In China, they are seen as a symbol of health, rebirth and fruitfulness. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber and healthy fats. With a high level of omega-3 and omega-6 fats, pumpkin seeds keep your skin soft, elastic and help prevent dehydration, leaving you with beautiful glowing skin. Here’s how:

1 medium pumpkin
4 pineapple chunks
1 tbsp finely ground oats
1 tbsp finely ground almonds
1 tsp milk
1 tsp honey
2 drops rose geranium essential oil
1 drop rose essential oil
Slice pumpkin into 6-8 pieces and remove skin.
Place the pieces, including seeds and strings in a microwave safe dish with 1/4 cup of water.
Microwave for 2 minutes, or until the flesh is soft, then allow to cool.
Cut the pumpkin peel from around the flesh, and discard it.
Place the pumpkin flesh, seeds, and strings into a small food processor adding the pineapple chunks, and blend for 1 minute, or until smooth.
Add the oats, almonds, milk, honey and essential oils, blending for a short time after each one.
The texture should be rich and smooth, but slightly grainy from the almonds.
Apply a generous layer to clean face and neck.
Leave on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse well with warm water and apply organic moisturizer.

See? so easy and very effective…not messy as well.. I love this simple recipe!

Certified Organic: Determine The Truth

Many people are going organic but what are their assurance that they are getting what they have paid for? What shoppers should look for is a seal of approval or a stamp from an accredited body such as the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), Ifoam (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements), Ocia (Organic Crop Improvement Association), Ecocert, and Demeter.

The only precaution for people who wants to try out the organic skincare range is the absence of synthetic fragrances, which is often replaced with essential oils. People with sensitive skin are still encouraged to do a pad test first because even though the farming process is chemical-free, some natural ingredients can still cause an allergic reaction or are irritants themselves.

And what you get from using organic skincare isn’t just skin-deep. By using organic products for your facial routine, you can take pride in your ethical consumption, which means you’re protecting the world and the environment just as much as you’re protecting your skin. Living a healthy life and staying beautiful is so easy.

Bad Habits of Skincare

Skincare does not start with the products you use or the skin treatments you undergo. Skin care depends on your habits and their effects on your skin. Below are some habits you can do without to achieve better skin:

Dehydrating your skin

You can slather on jars after jars of moisturizers on your face but these won’t do any difference on your skin if it is dehydrated internally. The most it can do is give you an oily sheen and some zits. Not drinking at least eight glasses of water daily can dehydrate your skin and make it lose necessary moisture. Lack of moisture can make your skin lose its elasticity and suppleness. This can lead to a condition known as “elderly itch.” With this condition, your skin becomes rough and dry, hence, making it itch. This can lead to premature aging of the skin which can give it a leathery appearance.

Washing your skin excessively

Ideally, your skin should only be washed at least once or twice a day. Washing your skin more than twice daily strips it off the necessary oils needed to maintain surface moisture. Aside from stripping your skin off its natural oils, overwashing can lead to irritation, dryness, and skin conditions like eczema.

Foregoing sun protection

Your moisturizer container may proclaim that is has SPF 15 but this is not reason enough to forego applying sunscreen or sunblock. For total protection, your skin needs at least SPF 30, more if you are going out between 10am to 4pm when the sun’s rays are at their strongest. Even if the day is cloudy, make it a point to wear sun protection since UV rays can penetrate clouds. Overexposure to the sun, can cause skin discoloration, sunburns, dryness, and other skin conditions. Use sunscreen on your face, lips, and other exposed body parts. Additional sun protection like hats, sunglasses, and umbrellas can also be used.

Using the wrong products

Just because a product worked well on another person, it does not mean that it will work great for you too. Choosing an inappropriate product for your skin type can worsen your skin’s condition. For example, using an oil-based product for oily skin will make it oilier and prone to more breakouts.

These are just some habits that can damage your skin. To prevent your skin from aging prematurely or breaking out, be sure to improve your skin care habits. Good skin care habits coupled with good organic skin care products can make your skin healthier and better.

Living A Rewarding Life: The Organic Way

Thought of having a perfect skin is impossible? No! It is very possible. Just know the basics of skincare, take it from there. OF course, the products that you are using also counts. Go for organic skincare products as to ensure the health of your skin.

Basic skincare is often neglected because we are into the “hype” of new skincare trend. There are only 3 steps to it. Follow them and a youthful, blemish free skin you shall achieve.

Cleanse: Never sleep with make up on your face, that is the number one rule of skin care. The skin needs to breathe and unwanted chemicals just clogged up the pores thus giving you breakouts or zits in the morning. Use organic skin cleanser before bed time. Go organic to keep the skin's natural moisture compared to the chemically based skin products.

Moisturize: The easiest thus the most neglected part of skincare. I urge you to use or purchase organic moisturizer and keep away from skincare prodcuts that might contain parabens. These chemical based skincare preservative contains toxins and its not great for the skin. Use organic ones like aloe vera, olive oil or honey as moisturizer. Chemical based skincare products needs paraben to lengthen the shelf life.

Diet: " You are what you eat". it just means that when its not good enough to eat then it wont be good enough for our skin. Go for organic stuff like honey, extra virgin olive oil, honey, or cucumber, etc.. Sometimes, we just take our diet for granted but it has the greatest effect for our skin so take time to plan and know your diet and live a healthy lifestyle.

Organic Benefits of Milk

Legends and historical books have often linked beauty of princesses and goddesses with a natural milk bath. Who can forget the famous Cleopatra nd her beauty which was a result of her regular milk baths. A s the name suggest, milk bath implies adding fresh or powdered milk to hot water and bathing in that. You may also add other natural ingredients like honey, oatmeal, and youf favorite essential oils to the bath for a great effect. This is the simpliest and most common organic skincare product without the hassle but with great effectiveness.

After having the bath, you skin will feel smoother, fresher and supple. This is because milk contains fats and proteins that helps in making your skin supple and soft. It is also acts as a natural skin exfoliant and helps in renewing your skin for a radiant and glowing look. It also relaxes and energizes sepcially if aromatic oils are in it. Right Skincare For Younger Generations

The skin care tips for teenagers includes having the parents or other older family members educating them about cosmetics. Early usage of cosmetics will only result in premature aging. There is a proper age for these. There are moisturizers and toners for teens but i dont recommend that at a young age unless there is a prior suggestion after consultation with a dermatologist.

Here are the 5 simple steps that we can share to your kids:
* Know the different skin types. Teenagers are very keen on television thus the hype of skincare is very prevalent. Using a product that is not ideal for one’s skin type may only worsen the problem. Explain to them that it may bot be what it seems on TV.

* Wash and clean skin regularly. Taking at least 2xa day is recommended. With the presence of smoke, smog and other environmental factors, you need to make sure the skin is cleansed. In the morning, oil has gathered in the pores. Cleaning them is to prevent pimples and acne. In the evening, dirt, oil, and make ups that have clogged the pores need to be removed. introduce organic skincare products that are less irritating and more gentle for their young skin.

* Have enough rest. This means that you should at least have 8 hours of sleep. Younger gens nowadays are so into fun and adventure, you have to inculcate in their young minds the importance of rest for their skin and body.

* Be gentle with your own skin. Never pick on your pimples. After cleaning your face, don’t rub your face with rough cloth. Gently wipe your face with soft cloth to avoid early development of lines. This skin care tip is also for every age. Proper treatment of skin is something that everyone should be aware of. Young men should be careful when shaving.

Skin problems are better prevented. Treatments cost more money and time. Introduce them to organic skincare at an early age so that they will know the importance it.

The Disadvantages of Using Synthetic Beauty Products

Skincare products we use may contain some harmful toxins which can be linked to allergies, headaches, joint pains, hormonal imbalances and even cancer . Some of these may even cause depression or even makes your skin problem worst.

So this is why most people are advocating for organic beauty products. These products ae safer, healthier for your skin, kinder to the environment and also makes more sense...Remember the adage "what you put on your body will manifest itself" ...Putting on harmful stuff will definitely give you problems but going green and organic wont do harm...

Now, lets talk about these harmful chemicals in synthetic skin care products:

* Synthetic Fragrance: The synthetic fragrances can block the ability of human cells to clear themselves of other substances that could be much more toxic than the fragrances. Exposure to chemical fragrances could compromise the transporters, making it easier for pollutants to enter the brain. Isn't that alarming? One problem for consumers trying to avoid synthetic fragrances is that only the word "fragrance" appears on the label as a rule. The actual chemical compound is rarely listed.

According to the Labor Environment Alliance Society's blog " the concerns about the environmental impact of synthetic fragrances first surfaced about 10 years ago in Japan and Europe as they were picking up pharmaceutical and personal care products in the wastewater flowing into rivers. As found in the result of research conducted by Epel Lab at Hopkins Marine Station. In Japan they discovered they are somewhat persistent - they don't break down.

I would definitely agree that no matter how little is the concentration of any synthetic fragrance , its still enough to cause any kind of damage to our skin. It is therefore never safe to use any kind of it. Better go for prevention than go for the costly cures...We never know what it may bring to us. As previously said, these harmful toxins can cause many unwanted effects.
